Slack installation guide

Slack is a vital tool that plays a central role in the functioning of a company, serving as a platform for work, collaboration, and decision making. It is also where your company culture is shaped and formed. However, without proper planning and usage, Slack can become overwhelming and chaotic, leading to communication breakdowns and negatively impacting the employee experience.

Anonymous feedback

All data and feedback is encrypted and identities remain anonymous. Meta data is only gathered in open channels and where the Temporall Slack bot has been invited to. Feedback responses are not connected to user accounts and cannot be traced back to the original respondent.

Connect to Slack in four simple steps

Note: Ensure that you are authorised to add apps to Slack, and that the Temporall for Slack integration app is approved by your Slack admin.

As an integration or Admin user of Temporall, you will be able to connect Temporall and choose the scopes that are required to enable the Temporall for Slack app to be active in your Slack workspace.

Step 1

Login into Workbench

Step 2

To connect Temporall for Slack, select the “Settings” menu item on the left hand menu and then the “Integrations” menu item. You will be presented with an array of integrations options that have been licensed for use. Now click on the Slack integration Icon to start the process to install Slack to Temporall.

On the next screen you will be presented with the option to install 3 different scopes:

Sync Employees
Sync employees in the Slack instance with employees that are added on Temporall

Campaigns
Send campaign questionnaires and reminders to employees directly with the Slack Workspace

Networks
Allow Temporall to capture Slack workspace network data to build insights and conversational network

Select the scopes you require by sliding the slider on the right.

Then click on the “Install” button.

Step 3

Complete the connection of Temporall to your Slack instance.

As the Slack Admin of your organisation, will need to sign in to your workspace and then authorise the connection to Temporall.

Once you have clicked on “Allow”, Temporall for Slack will automatically be added to your Slack workspace.

Step 4

Once Temporall for Slack has been added your instance you can then invite Temporall to any of your open  channels.

To do this select the channels tab at the top on the connector screen and then via the 3 dots menu on the right hand side of the channel name, select join.

You can invite Temporall to any open Slack channel via the Temporall integrations dashboard.

To invite Temporall to a private closed channel, Temporall has to be invited into that channel via the Slack interface itself.

Note: Temporall cannot be invited to or collect any metrics from any direct messages.

Once the connection and the channels invite process has been completed, you will be able to deliver and see advanced metrics in Temporall and use Temporall to deliver any short survey questionnaires via Slack to understand how work gets done.
